About the Sunman Rural Fire Department
The Sunman Rural Fire Department is a dedicated, all-volunteer organization proudly serving the Town of Sunman and surrounding communities throughout Ripley, Dearborn, and Franklin counties.
​
Through contracts with the Town of Sunman and neighboring townships, the department receives funding to help cover day-to-day operating expenses and provide essential emergency fire and rescue services. However, those funds alone are not enough to maintain and replace the specialized equipment, emergency vehicles, protective gear, and facility improvements necessary to keep our firefighters and community safe.

That is why community support is so important.

Every firefighter with the Sunman Rural Fire Department volunteers their time without compensation, dedicating countless hours to training, education, and emergency response to ensure they are prepared when our community needs them most.

About Sunman Rescue 20 EMS
Sunman Rescue 20 EMS is a dedicated emergency medical service committed to providing rapid, compassionate, and professional pre-hospital emergency care to the residents and visitors of Sunman and the surrounding communities.

Our highly trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and First Responders are available around the clock to respond to medical emergencies, accidents, and other life-threatening situations. Every call is answered with one goal in mind—to provide the highest level of care when every second counts.

As a community-based organization, Sunman Rescue 20 EMS relies on a combination of contracted funding, billing revenue, grants, and generous community support to maintain ambulances, lifesaving medical equipment, training, and operational readiness. These resources ensure our responders have the tools they need to provide exceptional emergency medical care.
